The pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea
In Santa Marinella there are several places where you can enjoy the crystal clear sea and beaches with suggestive views. The coastline, easily accessible thanks to the Aurelia state road parallel to the coast, extends for about 22 km between the Baia di Ponente area, about 8 km from the city of Civitavecchia, and the Castle of Santa Severa
The coast is made up of fairly wide stretches of sandy shoreline altenating with areas where only local stone is present. Starting from the Triangolo residence area up to the Baia di Ponente location, the coast features wilder beaches, accompanied by small sandy areas, where the presence of bathing facilities ensures all the necessary services for tourists. In the center of the town, in the so-called Passeggiata, you can find a sandy beach, which is the only one in the area: to protect it, an artificial reef was built, where families can enjoy the beautiful sea in complete tranquility and safety. Among the most beautiful places on the sea of Santa Marinella, then, it is necessary to mention Capo Linaro, the point furthest out into the sea of the entire coast. In addition to the clear water, it is a perfect spot to take photos and capture the most beautiful moment of the sunset. This part of Santa Marinella is also famous for the countless stilt houses, very small houses resting on wooden pillars planted in the water, which follow one another creating a picturesque landscape.
